ന്യൂസ് പേപ്പര് ബോയ്
1955 മേയ് 13. തൃശൂര് ജോസ് ടി തീയേറ്ററില് ഇന്ത്യയില് മാത്രമല്ല ലോകത്തിലെ തന്നെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രായംകുറഞ്ഞ ഒരു സംവിധായകന്റെ ആദ്യത്തെ മുഴുനീള ചലച്ചിത്രമായ ന്യൂസ് പേപ്പര് ബോയ് പ്രദര്ശനം ആരംഭിച്ചു. ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ പേര് ന്യൂസ് പേപ്പര് ബോയ്. സംവിധായകന്-പി. രാംദാസ്. കേരളത്തിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ നിയോ റിയലിസ്റ്റിക് ചലച്ചിത്രമായി വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ട ന്യൂസ് പേപ്പര് ബോയിക്ക് ഇന്ന് 50 വയസ്.
ഇത്രയധികം പ്രശസ്തി വാരിക്കൂട്ടിയ ഈ ചലച്ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ അണിയറ ശില്പികള് കോളജ് വിദ്യാര്ഥികളായിരുന്നു. 1,75,000 രൂപ ചെലവില് പൂര്ത്തിയായ ഈ രണ്ടു മണിക്കൂര് പത്തുമിനിറ്റ് ചിത്രം ഇന്ത്യയില് ഒരുപക്ഷേ, ലോകത്തില്ത്തന്നെയും വിദ്യാര്ഥികള് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത ആദ്യത്തെ ഫീച്ചര് സിനിമയാണ്.
1950-കളിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രശസ്തമായ സിനിമാ മാസികയായിരുന്ന ഫിലിംഫെയറില് വന്ന ഒരു ലേഖനമാണ് ന്യൂസ്പേപ്പര് ബോയിയുടെ തുടക്കത്തിനു കാരണമായത്. 'രാജ്കപൂര് ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രായംകുറഞ്ഞ സംവിധായകന്. ഈ തലക്കെട്ട് വായിച്ചതിനു ശേഷം പി. രാംദാസ് തന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരോടു പറഞ്ഞു: ഞാനാവും ലോകത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രായംകുറഞ്ഞ സംവിധായകന്. അന്നുമുതലുള്ള അഞ്ചുവര്ഷത്തെ കഠിനാധ്വാനത്തിന്റെ ഫലമായി 22-ാം വയസില് പി. രാംദാസ് സംവിധായകനായി.
മഹാത്മാ മാസികയില് രാംദാസ് തന്നെ എഴുതിയ കംപോസ്റ്റര് എന്ന കഥയായിരുന്നു ന്യൂസ്പേപ്പര് ബോയിക്കാധാരം.

I, BABU P FRANCIS, accidentally came to read your review about this very old malayalam film `NEWSPAPER BOY'.........!!!
I had once talked personnaly to Adv.Ramdas regarding this movie and how I could see this movie again....
The main reason I was interested in this movie was because my uncle had acted in this movie as the `newspaper boy'...!!! and I was not so lucky to see this movie yet...but my family had seen it once in ASIANET CHANNEL they told me....!!
How can I get a CD Print of this movie? Can you help me in this?
My uncle, who acted in this movie, is no more now and I feel a
sentimetal value to keep a print of this famous creation of youngsters of Trichur once upon a time....!!!
Remembering my uncle through this movie is a great feeling also those youngsters of this great creation should never die off....!!!

I lost track of THARANGINI magazine however by luck I got my own comments on the old malayalam film NEWSPAPER BOY when I googled the same...!!I got your contact but is your cell phone # still in use to contact you for details on NEWSPAPER BOY film by Adv.Ramdas? My interest in this film was that my uncle acted as the NEWSPAPER BOY...!! and he is no more now and the sentimental feeling prompted me to comment on this subject...!!
